Although Tuesday Rocks isn’t quite the weekly feature I had intended, it is kinda cool to look back over the last week or weeks and see all the neat things that have been happening to me and around me.  This is one of those almost a month round up posts – it has been sitting in my Drafts folder for a couple of weeks and I add to it when I get the chance however considering today is Tuesday, I’m not doing anything else until its posted!!
As a result, it’s going to be a big post.  Grab your cup of coffee, pot of tea or glass of wine .. we’re off!

Almost a Boudoir

I bought my first bed back in about 1994.  I was 20.  It recently gave up on me, but I’m not too upset as I don’t think that those fake wrought iron frames and slats are supposed to last a little more than 15 years.  Any how, it did … but only just.

I had to save a bit in order to replace it with something that wasn’t as shit and as a result, the broken slat bed became ‘a futon’ for a couple of months.
I now have a gorgeous almost sleigh bed in a beautiful dark oak.  I love how the headboard just fits my back perfectly for reading and how the duvet skims the bottom.

With a couple of matching bedside tables and two (super cheap from the Warehouse) beside lamps, my bedroom feels cosy and all ready for all of the reading and catching up on shoes on my TiVo that I have planned for the winter months.

Battleship, The Lucky One, The Avengers – and something Dark

I’ve got my movie mojo back.  We have been to the movies quite a few times recently and I’ve been able to catch up with the new releases.

First up was Battleship which I didn’t find too bad at all.  Sure it is far fetched but who wants to pay $20 to be faced with reality??
I still couldn’t tell you who was in it – except Rihanna – or recite any of the lines from it but I enjoyed it all the same.

Especially this guy …

Then one Sunday afternoon Mel and I went on a chicks trip to perve at some young kid.
And by some young kid I mean Zac Efron – who has grown up – but not enough for me to feel right about finding him hot.  It is just the eyebrows but it still doesn’t feel right!!

And actually neither does the movie.  I didn’t get that heart swell over the two main characters.
Perhaps he is too young for her as well.  Or she annoyed me.  Or both.

But the best movie so far this years has to be “The Avengers”.
After we dropped the kids off on Sunday, we went out on a mini date.  All I have to say is if you haven’t seen it yet – go see it.
I’m looking forward to seeing it again – in fact doing a Michelle on it and seeing it at least another two or three or four times.

This trailer doesn’t do it justice!  P.S. Robert Downey Jr … awesome!

And now for something … same same but different?

I completed the February and April Photo a Day challenges that were created by Chantelle.
I had thought that they would be a good inspiration for images for my 365 Project but in all reality, they seemed to have stalled it more than anything.

I’m currently lacking drive, want, desire for the 365 Project which in turn makes me feel bad.  I’m over Day 200 so well over half way … I need a push to get the next 160 odd days completed.  I’ve gone back to a theme that I enjoy – using light and a mirror.  “Things On A Mirror” is fun to play with and lets us see more than one side of an object.

Day #187 - Delicate on 365 Project

And I have set myself a goal – I’d like to sell at least one image a month.
Seeing as I’m not diving, surely I can push my energies in to making this happen – yea?  More on this when I get my ass in to gear a bit more!

A little something for my friends who sometimes read this and wonder what the hell I am on about …

And to finish off … when I was hanging out with Mel the other day we went and picked up her boys.  Funny young men .. anyways, Mel went to grab something from the back of the station wagon and Liam pipes up “Mom’s got a lot of junk in her trunk”.  I’m still giggling.
This is for you Mel – and the rest of us!
