If the rest of summer could be like today, I would be a very very very happy girl.

Cate and I went out to brunch reasonably early for a Sunday – my tummy wanted bacon … and real coffee.
Then we wandered in to the Takapuna Markets and picked up a few things. I got a small decorative Christmas Tree, a couple of presents, a ring and a hat. We found big gorgeous hats – and needed them on a day like today.

Cate's new hat

This fantastic purchase served a dual purpose. How to find your friend in a crowd … look for the bright pink sun hat!!

The lights on Cate’s car are just cool. I photographed front and back.

Then I spent the rest of the afternoon in the garden – with a large glass of water and mint and lemon … and a cat that kept wanting to push his face in it.

Don’t be fooled! He is not as innocent as he looks.

His Royal Fatness

Mel and Gary and I popped up to the Glenfield Night Markets for dinner.
This cute little guy couldn’t eat his icecream fast enough. His Mom said he doesn’t usually have it – I think he was making sure no one took it away from him.

And White’s Freezery had their truck at the markets tonight. Frozen yoghurt for me. Perfect end to the day!
