There was a bit of a theme to my posts for a while there late last year and early this year.
I enjoy being busy however I didn’t feel like I was getting any rest.  Sure I was now sleeping well but working all week and diving all weekend meant that I was just getting more and more run down.  I even blogged calling for a Time Out.
I changed roles in April (not that it will last for long turns out – whole ‘nother story) and with this new role came a different set of responsibilities as well as the design and project work that I had been doing previously.

I made a deliberate decision to slow things down a tad.

I wanted to be able to go and see my Mom for the weekend without thinking that I was missing out on something or that I was letting the team down.

Hanging out at Moms with my cousin, having a vine yard lunch, the Wairarapa misty mornings and autumn leaves

I wanted to be able to go away for a weekend and see my non-diving friends (or friends that weren’t diving that weekend).

moving Marcia - craming her and things in the car and then celebrating with 98 Pol Roger

I wanted to spend more time with my friends in town and have the chance and the time to meet new ones.

And I wanted to be in town for fun events that were happening here.

Jonties 40th, Shaky Isles kranskys, Crafternoon Tea in Kingsland and Freddos with a cup of tea

And just quietly, I wanted to get back in to a regular routine of doing my chores.  As I love the Treehouse, but sometimes it gets to Sunday nights and its still a bomb site.

I was feeling a little like I was missing out on some things.  I realised that the only person that could make a change like that in my life was me.  So I made that change instead of just talking about it.

So as you can see all of these – except the chores routine – have been happening recently and I am really happy about it.

And reading! I’m back in my reading zone and I am N A I L I N G my challenge to read 50 books this year.
