One of my favorite things to do is to finish up work early and escape to the doggy Disney Land that is Metro Paws. I’m quite lucky in that I get special access and can go in to the play around and photograph all the big and little dogs doing what they do best – being dogs.
Metro Paws had an Open Weekend so that people could come and see what their facilities were like from the dogs perspective and Nicola and I thought it would be a good idea to offer Mini Sessions. Mini Sessions are 10 minute photography sessions for only $10.00 – with the option to purchase prints and canvases later on. A small selection of low resolution copies were prepared for each dog (for sharing, emailing and storing).
The Little Paws play area is a fenced area inside that we created a mini ‘studio’ in with couches and chairs and pallets and the models could run around a wee bit. All I bought were a few treats, a few lenses and a simple reflector.
It seems Mini Sessions were a great idea!! The sessions were very popular and I was very usy for both days.
I think this is definitely something that we will be running again in the future.
