Oh what a weekend! Some warmth coming out of that bright orb in the sky, plants going into my pots on the back deck and some compost getting munched in to the vegetable boxes to get them all ready for our next plantings. There are buds on the trees and the birds are all getting a bit yappy in the mornings. SEE YA LATER WINTER!
The birds are also starting to spend a little too much time on Napoleon’s lawn but he has his eye on them today – and me, supervising me actioning items off my To Do List.
As soon as I start to see the signs of spring, the following poem pops in to my head;
Spring has sprung, the grass has riz, I wonder where de boidies is?
I’ve no idea where it comes from, or how the rest of it goes, but its been there in my head for as long as I can remember!
We’ve spent a bit of time on the house in the last couple of weeks, throwing off the reminders of winter (and winter roasts from the oven – ewww) and everything is already starting to feel lighter and brighter. I’ve been keeping my eye out for ideas on how to add some more colour in to the living areas and this year I want to make more use of the little deck outside our living room doors. I finally found the piece of furniture I wanted to really make a statement .. more on that below.
Watching: We’re still with Sam and Dean but I am painfully aware that we don’t have much time left – we’re on to Season Seven already! When Ken is out, or watching sport, I’ve been watching cheesy (as in seriously don’t judge me cheesy) shows like … actually I’m not even going to say!! I woke up at an absolutely ridiculous 5:15am on Sunday morning and started White Collar – and was quite impressed with the pilot episode so I will leave that on The List to continue watching.
Listening To: When I restored my iMac (last Currently post) I managed to not backup all my music first … so who is the dick now? … so I am left with what I have bought from iTunes and what I have on my Spotify lists. I really need to get with the rebuilding of those!
Reading: I bought a Clive Cussler book to while away some time at the airport the other week and I devoured it! The Dirk Pitt series and now the N.U.M.A files are based around a team of marine biologists who have mad crazy adventures chasing wrecks, women and those who do wrong. So easy to read! I have a stack of them on the Kindle but Ken’s reading a book on it at the moment so I’ll need to throw some on the iPad (or swap devices somehow).
Thinking About: So I mentioned color, my living room and new furniture earlier? Well today I bought this gorgeous piece ..
So my next few weeks are going to be spent wondering;
a) if I should rearrange the living room again
b) which photograph I should have printed on a super mega canvas
c) or if I should have a glass mount print made instead
d) which cushions will I keep and which will I replace (just kidding, I’ve totally made THAT decision already!
e) do I have enough examples of colourful rooms in the Pinterest board that I share with my Mom (she has mad interior design skillz!) – Colour Up My Room Mommy. And yes all those comments are exactly how we talk face to face!
Making Me Happy: So far we have had sunshine, spring flowers and new furniture – how much better could things get? Well a bit I think! Mel is coming to stay for a couple of days, we’re taking the kids to MythBusters over Fathers Day weekend and one day soon this cold and its stupid stupid cough will leave me.
But while I wait for that … its almost time for Mark Vette’s new show “Pound Pups to Dog Stars” which starts tonight on TV1.
+ the [iPhone] Month that was +
I’ve adopted these two as my nephews | Daffodils for spring | The face that tells me she missed me
Road trip through Huntly | A lady like pose for a change | Light and lines
I love White Collar.
I love the new draws you just got. I really should think about changing rooms around. We have an old table that is going to be sanded down so I can paint it white which will become the desk in our study. I am so excited and it’s taken me forever to find the right table and I don’t even know if this is exactly right. 🙂
I love changing things around! I have to work out where those new drawers will fit but its all rather exciting 🙂
