It is Friday today and oh boy do I love Fridays! It’s not that I don’t love my job – but I really do love weekends more.

This post is a little but of everything – part update, part question and part .. well, blog I guess.

The Update Part:
You’ll have noticed that I’ve changed a lot of things around on my website and I’m a wee bit sorry if all these dogs and cats aren’t your thing however not sorry as they totally are my thing.  Since moving to the Waikato and falling in with a bunch of crazy dog lovers I have discovered that I can sit with the dogs and the cats for hours and take photographs of them I’ve been spending my days and nights building up a pet photography business for myself and I am absolutely loving it!
I would like to take this opportunity to say that it wouldn’t be possible without the support of all of my family friends and especially Nicola who owns Metro Paws here in Hamilton and who is now Nixie’s mother in law due to the obsession my dog has with Sid – her pit bull!

Life | By Tara Portfolio

I have a portfolio that I am proud of and the best part, I am meeting some really lovely people and seeing some amazing scenery.  There is a link to my Facebook page over to the right – if you haven’t already, click that Like button!
I am a few days behind on my 365 Project for 2014 as a result but I have some great photographs sitting in Lightroom that I just need to allocate some time to processing now that I am all caught up on my Sessions and only need to write the accompanying Our Sessions blog post for them.

The Question Part:
So dear Reader, do you mind seeing a little bit of me mixed in with my photography sessions or would you rather I kept all the blogs separate?  I do have another location where you can catch up on all my wee rants (most of them appear on my Twitter account) and I’ve moved or deleted a lot of the old nothing posts that are just taking up space.

Personally I like to think that if you are booking a Session with me and allowing me to spend time with your pet then you might like to know a little more about me.  And if you are reading my blog, then perhaps a glimpse into Session life might be interesting to you too.  If you have an opinion either way, let me know in the comments?

And finally … the Blog Part:

Watching:  Well its Super Rugby season so my Friday nights and Saturdays nights are almost booked solid with that but when I can change the channel from sport or the two of us are relaxing we have a Go To show list.  By myself I am watching Nip/Tuck – I’ve just finished Season One and whilst Christian is just as much of a lad as I remember, I had forgotten about how awesome the surgery scenes are!  Perhaps in one of my next lives I will come back as someone who has the dedication to study to become a surgeon. Blood! Yea!  When we’re chilling out together we’re watching Dexter from the start – one of my all time favourite shows.

Listening To:  I’ve recently cancelled my Spotify Premium subscription and its nothing to do with the service, in fact, its a brilliant service however its money I can better redirect to other things at the moment.  I’ve reactivated my Pandora account for when I want recommendations but I’ve updated my iTunes Playcount = 0 playlist and am rediscovering music I already have.  Todays gem – the Deep House Adventures by a diving buddy DJ Gareth Bellamy.  Gareth played DJ sets in the largest sea cave in the world on more than one of our New Years Liveaboards.  Hearing his tunes in a 200,000+ cubic metre sea cave whilst ascending from a dive is absolutely INSANE!  He’s on SoundCloud – check him out – Karma-EclectiKa

Thinking About:  It is all about me right now.  Focus on food, focus on health, focus on building a business around something that I enjoy.

Reading:  Oh my goodness – I haven’t read a book in ages! In fact, where on earth is my Kindle??

Making Me Happy:  This life, these days.  It’s a combination of so many things – the garden is growing well and we have lots of vegetables, my landlords did a paint and stain of the deck and fences and my back yard looks great, we’re moving his furniture in and I’m getting decorating advise over text and Skype from my Mom (including hand drawn diagrams!)  also He and I did a health reset in January called the Whole 30.  We’ve cut out sugar and processed food and grains and the two of us are sleeping well, focussed and we’ve both lost weight.  I feel like I can take on anything right now and I’m loving it!

Here’s hoping you all have a wonderful weekend.  I’m off to get my camera gear ready for tomorrow and Sunday where I’ll be doing mini Portrait Sessions at the Metro Paws Open Day – yayyy doggys!!!
