I really don’t know what I am talking about when it comes to rugby.
I don’t remember all the numbers on the jerseys and I can’t remember which provincial team most of the guys played for this year – let alone last year.
Still, even excluding the Opening Ceremony and its amazing fireworks, the games have kept my television channels tuned to sport. Well actually one sport – RUGBY!
Last night was a massive upset.
I thought Ireland would smash Wales (even though I wanted Wales to win). Wales came out charging – and did so for 80 minutes. Bet Warren Gatland is proud today.
I hope Ireland go home with a wee smile though. They beat Australia. Fucking good on you Ireland.
And then there was England and France.
France seemed to be playing like shit for most of the tournament. And they got their asses handed to them by Tonga. WOO HOO TONGA!
But then last night, with superb kicking, they sent a pretty wimpy looking English side home.
Yup that’s it for Ireland and England.
You lose a Quarter Final and you can pack your bags.
So first off tonight we have Australia playing South Africa.
I seriously hope hope hope that South Africa wallop them. But I don’t think it will be that easy.
Australia must feel pretty stink after losing to Ireland and I bet that Robbie Deans (the Australian couch) can see the chopping block that his neck will be resting on if they don’t get any further. Still I reckon that South Africa are the better side.
And after that – the All Blacks play Argentina.
And I have tickets!!!
