I volunteered some of my time to help Metro Paws – which is where Nixie attends Doggy Day Care – photograph their Christmas Dogs.  Parents gave a gold coin donation to Paws 4 Life, a registered charity operating in the Waikato aiming to reduce the population of unwanted animals by rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming animals as well as educating the community and also by providing solutions and alternatives for animals in need.

I coerced/perusaded/begged Emma in to helping me.  I already had an idea that photographing 20 or 30 dogs would be hard enough without getting them to pose … in Christmas get ups.

And it took us a couple of afternoons however in the end, we photographed around 50 dogs.  And for the most part, it was relatively plainless.  I learned the value of patience – and an equally patient assistant who carries doggy treats.

Here are a few of my favourites;

Teyha

Bentley

Puppy Elvis

Gucci

And I can’t finish this blog without posting a HUGE thank you to Emma. All I did was press the shutter, she did all the hard work.
