08:00 – these cheeky weekend sleepins are starting to be the best habit to come out of the Corona Retreat. Well kinda. Yesterday I decided that I am restarting the Couch to 5 km running app (#C25K). My movement is nowhere near what it was – both with training and stuff during the day and my intake, well it’s on an okay-ish level but it hasn’t lowered to the same extent. And for the first week, that was alright but I was just finishing up a reverse diet before we went ‘on Retreat’ and now I am feeling all the extra weight.
So even though I am reading posts like “you don’t have to come out of lockdown with a clean house, six new skills, perfectly cut fringe, and having lost 5kgs. You need to come out of lockdown without having infected or endangered anyone” – I’m definitely doing the last bit but I also want to make the most of my time to work on me and to continue working on my path to the WBFF Transformation stage. And I am fresh out of new excuses and stories.

09:40 – dragged my ass out of bed after a lazy start to the day. Made fried eggs on toast and stood in the kitchen sharing them with Nix.

10:30 – I have been working on creating a self-guided version of my monthly 12 Days of You nutrition coaching project. I’ve planned out most of how I want the content to be structured and in doing this, I’ve also planned out and written a new Snacking project. Which I am calling The Snaccident Management Project.
I might not be DIY’ing all over the show and baking up a storm, but I am doing a few things that have been on my list for a while.

12:00 – time to take my bubble around the block. We are so so so lucky with our weather – gorgeous autumn blue sky days. Checking out what the bears around our neighbourhood are up to today.

15:00 – I decided to get funky with my baking skills. I’d heard about flour alternatives and I was high on my banana bread success from yesterday.
I tried a canned chickpea and peanut butter cookie recipe. Not good. Not absolutely terrible. But the banana bread is where I should have stopped.

16:00 – I said I would …. first run of the C25k. Feeling so grateful to have Waiwhakareke across the road. Such a beautiful space and so lovely to get out on my own for a wee bit.
Surprised myself with how easy it is – but settle down Tara cos its only Day 1 – and how much I enjoyed putting a little effort in.

18:30 – decided I would put a whole lot of effort into dinner tonight. Slow roasted lamb shanks with a portion of warm wholemeal pasta and bean salad. Absolutely bloody delicious.
I am well proud of myself for a Saturday. And then I managed to get Ken interested in watching Ozarks with me. Even more chuffed!
