I love it when my friends get dogs and then I get to see them growing up on their social media – especially Instagram – accounts.
Ted, the five-month-old West Highland Terrier, is one of those wee dogs.

Paul and Misa wanted his session to capture his puppiness.  And a Mini Session in the Wellington Botanic Gardens was the perfect place to do this.
I was even happier when the Wellington weather played ball and we got lovely soft light but more importantly – NO RAIN!

We walked through the gardens and up to the lawns at the top. Wellington has done a beautiful job of bringing these gardens back to life – and giving us photographers a lot of choice for locations. Even more special, Paul and Misa had their engagement photographs taken here about a year earlier.

One thing I tell people – just ignore me.
You just do your thing and that is what I really want to capture. Every now and then, I’ll ask you to look at me but otherwise, and the whole session is much less stressful this way, just be together.

And when you find a great pile of logs that are perfect for posing – in front of a flowering kowhai tree … use them!
