Black and White
This weeks theme is a delight for me!
My favourite photograph of Nixie Lix, well it was until I made this, is a black and white treatment of her in front of one of our concrete walls waiting for her cupboard to be opened and her frisbee to come out. It is the photograph that I had her sitting in front of in last weeks 7 – Print post.
I love the simplicity of a black and white photograph.
I feel more emotion in both creating the photograph and viewing it.
Void of colour, a black and white Pet Photography image requires the light, tonal contrast, composition and pose to tell the story.
This week I made a studio at home. Ken’s son is now at university and his daughter lives on the other island so I have spread my camera gear out even further and have expanded into another bedroom. I have space for two lights and a permanent backdrop holder and a treat jar, fan and squeaky toys.
And tonight’s photograph came out exactly how I planned it.
Project 52 is a weekly circle project so from here, use the following link to hop over and visit Alicia at Barking Lab Studio, Princeton New Jersey Dog Photography to see what they have created, and then keep visiting the other blogs until you end up back here.
If you are interested in a Pet Photography session using a studio setting, I book studio sessions for June, July and August. Please contact me for more information.
Happy Friday y’all X
