The Northland/Auckland/Waikato Anniversary Weekend edition.  The lazy edition.
One of us is feet up on the couch beside the fan, with a puppy snuggled in beside me snoring, thinking about the Shepherds Pie I am going to make for dinner even though its hot, and where are you?

Last week was our first week back at work – the number one job that is.  Number two starts this coming weekend – with a a session with two Schnauzers – weeeeee!!!!
How absolutely bloody awesome is it that the beginning of the second week back at work has a long weekend – so its only 4 days long … and then so is the week after!  I for one appreciate this slow dip back into the full time job life.  Especially after these Christmas/Summer holidays have been so so SO SO good.
By the end of last year, I was more tired than I have ever been – tired in body and mind.  I put so much energy into my

My first week back at work included a trip to Wellington – just for the day.  And this work day included booking day trips every two weeks for the next few months.  But I have these amazing views to look forward to so I think I can handle it … and the Wellington team are pretty fun to work with.

Watching: You’re not going to believe this … we have actually finished Supernatural – all 9 seasons!  It got a bit tedious after a while, maybe 4 or 5 seasons but I hung in there for Dean.  There weren’t enough monsters, they were written out in favour of an angels and demons story that probably should have lasted maybe two seasons at the most.  Still, I loved that car and those cheeky grins.  We started American Horror Story and its got me wondering why I only watching one episode when it was on normal telly.  OH! AND! The Fall – if you haven’t watched The Fall (a Netflix Original) you must, you must, YOU MUST.  Gillian Anderson is brilliant and Jamie Dornan, now I see what some of the fuss is about. And Friends – but we don’t need to talk about that do we?

Doing: I want to go for a dive. I am going to go for a dive.  Marcia and I have been swimming (and water jogging) and whilst we were at Waterworld one day, we noticed a dive instructor and a student.  So we enquired about using the pool.  I’ve provided them with my Instructor and Tech Certificates, renewed that Instructor certificate and written a Risk Management plan.  The Operations Manager has accepted all of these so whilst I wait for Marcia to get back from her Aussie get away, I’ve been swimming.  Yesterday I did 900m and I’m stoked with that!

Reading: I’m on book 5 of the Cross Stitch (Outlander) series – and yes, I’m still loving them.  Diana waxes on a bit sometimes but I get a feeling for the locations and the people and as such, I am losing myself in the story.  As Ken and are doing our second Whole 30, I’m also re-reading parts of “It Starts With Food” as and when I think I need it.

Making Me Happy: ALL THE HOLIDAYS!  We took basically a month off … to recharge, lie around, eat and hang out with the dogs.  And it was wonderful.  So much so that I have a holiday hangover and I think I need a holiday from my holiday.  Or just another one of those holidays thanks.
