2014 was a huge year for me – full of new experiences and learning and meeting the most amazing people.
Looking through my Lightroom library, I took (or rather kept) 4148 personal photographs and 4848 client images and these images that follow are the ones that I have chosen as my Best 10, or Most Favorite 10, of 2014.

Day 23 - Hurry Up!

My Nixie Lix – shot with an 85mm portrait lens I was planning to use for a client session and hands down my most favourite photograph of her to date.  The anticipation of the cupboard being opened, the cupboard that holds the leads and the frisbee – anticipation and concentration!  Day 24 - Water Dog

Nixie Lix in the water at Tairua on one of our mini breaks.  The sky was on fire but its these minutes after the sun had disappeared that I think are the most beautiful.  And thats her to a T – tail up, stick in her mouth, puddling around in the water._DSC2211

Lucy (and Lexie and Paige) just doing their own thing on a session at Minogue Park.  I’m so pleased the grass was still long and the flowers were out.  Simply pretty is how I describe this photograph and it was the first one that I chose for the Napier exhibition._DSC3357

A moment with Libby – such bright afternoon sun and as it got lower the most amazing rose gold glow.  Sitting in a field with Rebecca and her family, this is one I love for the emotion and the love.C0009-FionaandFloyd-8213

Treats after an amazing afternoon running around the park.  Super hero Floyd, a doberman with three legs, gets rewards from Mom Fiona.  And to think, we nearly left the park and missed the sunset! _DSC0014

This year I upgraded to a full frame camera and you might think it silly, but for days it was always right there next to me.  I woke up one morning and as normal, said good morning to Nixie.  She sat up … I was so glad that camera was so handy! _DSC1141-Edit

A portrait of Brian.  A loved, funny, gentle and fun Bull Terrier – I just adore this photograph._DSC1516

Cherry’s paws.  Possibly something only a dog owner would love! Take Me Home

Baby Django Lix.  His arrival into our home turned our life upside down – but who can stay mad at this face for long?! Even though he’s three times (four times) the size, he’s still as cute._DSC4329

Steam Punk day at the Bush Railway.  I really like the contrasting primary colours and the definition in the fireball.

So that’s my 2014!  I’ve added this URL to Jim Goldsteins collection and am looking forward to seeing what others have collected.  In the mean time, here is the link for his list of Blog Readers Best of 2013: http://www.jmg-galleries.com/blog/2014/01/07/photos-2013-jmggalleries-blog-readers/
