The 1st of September is regarded as the first day of Spring here in New Zealand.
I was so excited that I celebrated that first day of spring with a most enthusiastic photograph on Instagram – titled Fuck Yea Spring!

We shrug off the wind and rain and chills of winter and try and convince ourselves that it is appropriate to start wearing light cardigans and jandals again while we point out the daffodils that are growing and rub our tummy’s when we spy the new season’s lambs.

The sun rises earlier and earlier and sets later and later and I start dreaming of warmer water and barbecues.

The sun also glistens off the cobwebs in the corner of the rooms and its brighter lights show up the marks on the wall.

Today was the day that I started my spring cleaning.
6 hours later and the house is getting to where I would like it to be.  The Treehouse already feels lighter and I feel better about that.

This morning I logged my weigh in with My Fitness Pal (urgh – that was horrible) and the body spring clean starts this week too.

I honestly love winter and the wrapping up, staying inside, reading.  Even the early nights and the frosty mornings.
However Spring has always felt like a reawakening.  The days are shrugging off the chills and the fog and all the light is re-emerging.
