I really felt like writing a blog post this morning but I didn’t know what about.
I am currently sitting on the train from Greytown to Wellington and we are going through the tunnel – I really like the tunnel – and as of right now, I still don’t know what this post will turn into.
I had a lovely weekend with my Mom – well, she worked in the gallery and I was generally quite lazy.
My cousin drove me over to Greytown on Friday night and the crazy things we talked about on our drive set me up with happy feelings.
She really is quite nutty but we were born about 6 months apart and we have known each other all our lives so I am pretty lucky that we stil get on like a house on fire.
We pulled up to Moms – my visit was supposed to be a surprise but Mom had Internet stalked me and knew I was in Wellington – anyway, I ran to the door and knocked really loudly. Scared the shit out of the stupid cat but I managed a little surprise as Mom thought I would be arriving on the train and not for another hour.
Saturday morning was stunning! I am so very excited to be seeing the end of winter.
I arranged to meet Jolo – my cousin – for lunch as she was headed back over to Wellington later that afternoon. and then I got a text from Scott to say he was thinking of coming over the hill for a ride on his super sexy new Ducati. And that I could take photographs of it!
While we were waiting for Scott, Jolo and I celebrating spring on the deck at the White Swan.
Well I was – she was driving over to Wellington later that afternoon so I started with a Bloody Mary and then added a nice cold beer.
I had a quick squizz online to see how other people’s photographs of motorbikes look and I was a bit bored.
I’ll post some of the ones that I took and think I’ll write another post a little bit later on about how I actually like some of the shots I took even though I know nothing about motorbikes.
After mom finished wok on Saturday, we headed up to Masterton to a friends for dinner.
We were promised roast pork. Yum scrum. I love love love roast pork.
And I love love love not having to do any dishes.
Thomas also made a side dish with reduced pork fat, garlic, salt and cabbage. It was just divine.
After dinner he bought out a bottle of plum schnapps that a friend of his had made and then a bottle of his own Pear Schanpps (50%)! … Let’s just say that when I went to bed I promptly fell asleep with my light on and my Kindle resting on my face.
Sunday was just as stunning. Warm and sunny. I really hope this is truly the beginning of spring.
I had an ultra lazy morning – continuing to read Book Three of the Game of Thrones series and texting Marcia (who is on Book Five) as I knew she would be reading too. and quite possibly still in bed!
I bought a couple of pieces from the gallery in the afternoon. Including some new glass earrings from fusion. They are such a beautiful colour.
And once Mom finished work, we had a few glasses of wine and her super delicious chicken for dinner.
So there we go!
My I don’t know what I am going to blog about post turned into a Weekend Wrap Up.
How was your weekend?
