There is nothing – absolutely nothing – half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats.” — Kenneth Grahame (The Wind in the Willows)
Weekends are important to me. Â I assume they are important to all of us – right? Â I try and plan my weekends more carefully these days with a nice mix of weekends at home, weekends out visiting and weekends traveling around the country.
Some of my favourite weekends are spent out on the water.
We don’t always have to be diving but I do enjoy it so if we are diving then it is a bonus.
Last weekend we took a trip out to the Mercury Islands – which are 8 kilometers off the north east side of Coromandel.
I checked the weather for the week before hand and it looked to be clearing up nicely.
Not so much the case by the time we got out to sea.
It was rough. Â Not unbearably so – but enough to have us rolling around a wee bit.
I didn’t take one photograph underwater. Â Intentionally.
There was very little sun. Â Not fair! Â I love the sun.
However I did a little diving, a little napping, I snapped a few photos with my iPhone and I spent the weekend traveling around some islands with some friends.
Messing around in a boat.
I very rarely post any of the other photographs that get taken over a dive trip weekend so seeing as how I don’t have any fish or eels … be warned! Â There are a few of them …..
This weekend is a home weekend.
I have scheduled a Rescue Diver pool session tonight and I am planning a proper photo walk around Wynyard Quarter on Sunday.
What are your weekend plans?
