Pinterest – An online Pinboard.  Organise and share things you love

I do have a Pinterest account however after the initial “oooh this is nice” few weeks of finding things and setting up boards, I find that I log on less frequently and for less time.

Yes it is filled with lovely things.
Things to make, places to go, outfits to wear, dishes to prepare.

It can also be a massive time waster.  Which on a rainy Sunday morning is not a bad thing at all.
I’ve found myself lazily flicking through beautiful recipes.  In fact, I have a little collection reserved just for Christmas at Mom’s.
And I created the tattoo on my left foot using something I found on Pinterest as a starting point.  I still smile when I see that pin appearing on my home screen as it does from time to time.

And then, as happens in every online community, there are the little tiffs and arguments .

The other day Bronnie repinned some waffles – with the comment “fuck yeah, waffles”.
A perfectly accurate comment and true to the Fuck Yea meme.  But it didn’t go down too well with a few women on Pinterest who told Bronnie off for her cussing.
Wendy, myself and Cate added our slightly sarcastic but also true comments to the mix and then next comment that came through made me just throw up my hands and laugh …

I’ve reported this

Well … good for you!!

Perhaps some people should spend more of their time actually doing the things they say they will in these thousands upon thousands of ‘pins’.  Going the places they mark.  Crafting, photographing, sewing.
Instead of just pinning them to an online board.

Do you use Pinterest?  How many of your pins that you have marked that you just have to do have you actually gone and done?

Don’t just Pin it.
