2. Backgrounds are as important as the subject.
Before you take your photographs, do a quick check of the background.
Make sure the chairs are away and there are no majorly distracting colours or bright objects – the items that you see, do they need to be there?
Does the colour of the background contrast nicely with the subject? Sometimes a slight shift to the side on your behalf can make all the difference between a photograph that is too ‘busy’ and one that is just right.
